1986 was the year that CKC founder Nancy Kayoum Close began her foodservice career and since that time has owned
and operated four successful food businesses. The development of CKC, the groundbreaking company that produces high
quality school lunch programs, began in 1990. Then, as now, Nancy's key to success in business has been to build a great team
and offer only the best food.
CKC has built a great team of skilled, long term employees, fostered strong relationships with the Department of
Education and involved School staff, parents and students in its menu planning process. CKC provides both food service
management and catering for public and private schools in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

Our primary goal is to serve fresh, nutritious food prepared to please our toughest critics...our children. Just as important,
we work with the schools serving the CKC lunch program to assist them in meeting their budget goals using our innovative programs.
We continue to keep current with industry trends by attending many of the workshops offered by the Minnesota Department of Education(MDE)
and have always structured our program utilizing MDE nutrition guidelines and the financial structure provided through their computer
based reporting system.
Over the years we have developed unique processes and procedures that have proven highly effective
in delivering the highest quality, on-budget food service programs to Minnesota schools.
